Pioneered by the De Wave Group (Genoa-based interior designers), select suite categories and public areas will receive aesthetic and functional improvements. Among these redesigned suites are the Aquamarine and Sapphire Classic suites. Located on Deck 10 of the Crystal Symphony. Including new carpets and wall coverings, both suite types will also have all-new furnishings that better align with the design and style established in the ship’s 2023 updates.
Bernie Leypold, senior vice president of hotel operations said, “We are proud to carry forward Crystal’s legacy while continuing to innovate.”
A variety of public areas will also be updated in the drydock. The Atrium and Crystal Cove will be updated under the direction of a marine interiors specialist, Gerolamo Scorza. The central gathering space is said to be revised to host a more modern layout with increased seating. The updates include the removal of a water feature, the relocation of a piano, as well as the installation of a mosaic and chandelier. The Crystal Cove will also be given a new front counter as well as bottle shelving with high-end furniture.
The Crystal Symphony’s reception area will be granted an elevated revision. The space will host a new desk, a marble top, and a blacklist panel. The walls will be given a new wallpaper, and the ceiling slats and lighting on Deck 5 will be replaced. Deck’s 5 and 6’s Stair Lobbies (which are also overseen by Gerolamo Scorza) will be given new ceiling structures, lighting features, and further wall details – as well as brass finishes around the entrances to elevators.
Elsewhere onboard the Crystal Symphony, the Starlite Club will receive a redesign to its dance floor and ceiling centrepiece. Guest restrooms will also be refreshed with new floors, wall finishes, and countertops. The Bistro is to receive updated wooden floors.
“Our goal is to ensure that every space aboard our ships feels both timeless and contemporary, infused with warmth, elegance and thoughtful design. These enhancements aboard Crystal Symphony reflect our promise to create meaningful experiences for our guests at every touchpoint,” Added Leypold.
Furthermore, the Crystal Symphony will undergo extensive technical upgrades. This includes a complete overhaul of the ship’s fin stabilisers’ hydraulic system. Then, renewal of both evaporators and installation of new fuel and oil purifiers. The freshwater piping system will also be modernised with new piping. The galleys, cold rooms, provision areas, and the like will all be fully renovated. Additional work includes a service to the generator auxiliaries and targeted steel replacements throughout the vessel, including fuel tanks.
