About The Cormorant at 55 South

The Cormorant at 55 South Room

The property has been titled in reference to its unique location in Puerto Williams. More specifically, The Cormorant at 55 South’s literal location at 55°S – which, in fact, makes this the southernmost hotel on Earth. The name also pays homage to the Indigenous Yaghan of Navarino Island where Puerto Williams is found.

“The Cormorant at 55 South is a tribute to the rich culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and storied history of Puerto Williams, immersing guests in their destination before embarking on their journey to Antarctica,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea.

Thoughtfully designed and decorated, the hotel’s interiors will feature warm wood tones throughout. Every room will also sport handcrafted items created by several regional artists, paying homage and celebrating the local and regional culture once more.
