DAY 1 – Reykjavik, Iceland
Your Arctic experience begins when the Scenic Team greets you at the airport and escorts you to the 6-start ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht. Set sail along the Icelandic coastline with a glass of champagne before enjoying dinner at one of the many onboard restaurants.
DAY 2 – Dynjandi (Fjallfoss)
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast brought to you by your personal butler, take some time to explore the revolutionary Scenic Eclipse Discovery Yacht, and get to know the onboard expert guides who will explain how the Zodiac and option helicopter and submarine, Scenic Freechoice and other Discovery Excursions will work in the coming days. Weather permitting, visit the jewel of the Westfjords, the Dynjandi Waterfall, with a shore excursion led by expert guides, or stay onboard and view these majestic falls from the luxury and comfort of the observation deck.
DAY 3 – Grimsey Island, Cruising the Arctic Circle, Akureyri
Get ready for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience crossing the Arctic Circle on foot as you visit Grimsey Island, a small island off the coast of mainland Iceland. Bird watchers can take advantage of the telescopes on the Observation Deck and Lounge to get a closer look at the puffins, razorbills, black guillemot and other cliff-nesting birds.
DAY 4 – Husavik
Thanks to its sleek design and innovative GPS, the Scenic Eclipse can sail into smaller ports, allowing guests to experience even more while onboard. This is used to its fullest when visiting Husavik on the edge of Shaky Bay. This small island dates back to the very foundation of Iceland in 860. It is scattered with colourful houses and surrounded by incredible natural wonders. Keep an eye out for Whales, nearly 23 species are regularly spotted around the area.
DAY 5 – Seyoisfjorour
Take the opportunity to join the Captian on the bridge for the best vantage point as you sail into this magical port. Explore East Iceland’s heart of culture, heritage, hospitality, and impressive architecture, 19th-century timber houses perched on the side of the lagoon.
DAY 6 – Torshavn, Faroe Islands
Start your day with a class in the PURE: Yoga & Pilates studio, before arriving at Tórshavn.
The Faroe Islands offer a captivating blend of Scandinavian culture and breathtaking natural beauty. Wander down cobbled alleyways between colourful buildings with grassy roofs and imagine life in Viking times.
DAY 7 – Kirkwall, Scotland
The capital of the Orkney Islands, Kirkwall is just off the northern tip of the Scottish mainland. A Viking spirit still runs through the town, which is centred around the grand St Magnus Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Wander the charming streets lined with quaint shops and cosy cafes, or go all the way back to prehistoric times at the world-famous Neolithic sites of Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar.
Continue your Scottish tasting experience on board as you indulge in over 100 varieties of aged whiskey at the Scenic Lounge Bar, including a 25-year-old Glendullan single malt.
DAY 8 – Fair Isle
It’s time to get off the ship and explore this stunning coastline with guided scenic walks or kayaking excursions. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and abundant seabirds. Learn about local history at the small museum, visit the two lighthouses, or watch a local artisan at work producing genuine Fair Isle knits.
DAY 9 – Lerwick, Norway
Visit the charming town of Lerwick, the most northerly point of the British Isles. Home to a charming waterfront lined with sandstone buildings dating back to the 18th century. This is the place where Norse heritage meets Scottish charm. Listen out for traditional Shetland music as you walk through this pretty harbour town’s twisting lanes and bustling market square.
DAY 10 – Flam
Today you’ll cruise through Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway, known as the ‘King of the Fjords’. Be mesmerised by the fjord’s majestic beauty, with its dramatic cliffs, emerald waters, and charming villages nestled along the shores. At its deepest, Sognefjord is more than 1,300 metres and flanked by steep mountains on either side. Take in the views from the Observation Terrace or breathe in the fresh fjord air as you sit back in one of the cabanas.
DAY 11 – Flam to Gudvangen, Norway
Before departing Flam, be sure to take a ride on one of the world’s most spectacular railway journeys, the 20km Flam Railway. This journey offers unobstructed views of the valley as it winds gently through the peaks towards the town centre.
As you continue your journey, sail through the majestic Nærøyfjord. This World Heritage-listed site is Sognefjord’s most wild and beautiful arm, with its towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Arrive in the charming village of Gudvangen, nestled amidst dramatic landscapes.
DAY 12 – Bergen
Your journey onboard the Scenic Eclipse finishes in the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen.
Savour one last luxurious breakfast on board your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht before saying farewell to the crew and new friends who have shared this journey with you. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward journey or return flight home.
